Fire Prevention Week 2009

It's Fire Prevention Week - “Stay Fire Smart! Don’t Get Burned!”.

Safe Kids USA joins the National Fire Protection Association in encouraging parents to teach their children how to stay safe from fire and other hot items that can burn them.

Do you know how many different ways children can start fires or get burned?

  • Young children are curious about using matches and lighters.
  • A child grabs a pot handle or runs by and knocks it off the stove.
  • A teenager leaves a candle burning with a piece of paper nearby.

These are just a few ways that a child can be burned. Download our parent guide for young children to find ways to protect your children from fire and burn injuries.

Take this quiz to test your knowledge about fire and burn safety.

After you take the quiz, it will show you how many answers you got right.  Then look at the answer key for the correct answers in GREEN.  Note: You will also see how other people answered the question with the percentages for each answer.
